The 4th APPIS Summit took place on 19-20 March 2024 and brought together attendees from over 59 countries across the healthcare ecosystem with the common goal of accelerating patient access and prioritizing action towards better health outcomes in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.

The Summit consisted of lively panel sessions, fireside discussions, and presentations, focused on the key themes of health literacy, shaping health policy, and future readiness. With over 40 speakers, including healthcare experts, patient leaders, policymakers and health journalists, these sessions explored a wide breadth of topics, from the challenges patients face to the importance of collaboration across health systems.

Beyond the Summit, the APPIS Innovator Program, which aims to partner with patient organizations to scale innovative patient solutions, will be open for submissions for qualifying patient organizations from 20 March - 5 April 2024.

Every year, a panel of patient leaders and healthcare experts will assess the submissions using the criteria of impact, innovation, potential to scale, fit to category, and progression. Winners of the APPIS Innovator Program will enter a one-year partnership with Novartis that will provide coaching from topic experts, increased visibility via the APPIS platform, and financial support to scale their innovative patient solutions.

This year, 16 local APPISx programs will take place across the region in South Korea, Australia, Turkey, Taiwan, Egypt, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, South Africa and countries in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa Region.
